I’m Allee Wilkinson.
Tech nerd. Journalist. Wanna-be designer. Book worm. Lover of beautiful food. Wife of @WilkLogan.
If you know me at all, you probably know I really like newspapers. If I could choose any job in the world, I would either write for the New York Times or work along side Ira Glass on This American Life. I am currently the News Editor for The Utah Statesman, Utah State University’s twice-weekly newspaper.
While newspapers will always be my first love, I’ve recently found something of (nearly) equal caliber. It may be the only job on earth college-educated people take that earns LESS money being a journalist. I’ve joined the world of non-profits. I just finished an internship with Heart of America, a literacy foundation focused on giving books to underprivileged children. It was absolutely eye-opening.
I’m a senior majoring in print journalism major at Utah State University. Despite the May blizzards, I love Logan. I call it my little slice of heaven. While I would enjoy just about any college, there’s something about USU that I fell in love with from the first time I visited. I’ll be sad to leave next year, but I hope to leave my mark on the school.
